How it all started....
My first real encounter with a jeep was when I was 10 years old in my hometown of Roma in Western Queensland. This discovery ultimately leads to my passion for “Preserving the Jeep”.
At 14, I bought my first jeep from a bloke near Mitchell that consequently sat in the garage due to lack of funds and understanding of what do next. In 1988 I bought another Jeep that was a basic runner from a grazier near Dirranbandi and I began to more seriously delve into the workings of this iconic vehicle. In late 1989 I found yet another jeep in a shed in western Toowoomba and after studying the manual (yes, blokes do read manuals), trial and error, this jeep received its roadworthy and is the jeep I still drive today.
Over the next 30 years whilst working in the automotive and building industries, I became an active member in the Queensland Jeep community. My jeep and I have had many “dirty” adventures and I began to enjoy my hobby more than my real job.
In 2014 I launched Military Vehicle Spares Pty Ltd at the Annual Cowara Swim-In event. After working from home for 6 years, in 2019 we relocated to our current location in Brendale on Brisbane’s Northside.
